Bio
Hailing from Seattle, WA, J.Bre first burst onto the music scene with his mixtape releases of “Renaissance” in Summer 2008 and “More Than Music” in Spring 2009, attracting fans from all around the globe and gaining national radio play. In September 2010, J.Bre released his debut album “Street Signs,” which featured Havoc from Mobb Deep, and Grynch, a noteworthy hip-hop artist from Seattle. Within a year, it was downloaded over 10,000 times from his website, jbrehiphop.com and was featured on Uproxx’s “The Smoking Section,” one of the most prominent national hip-hop blogs. In April 2011, J.Bre was interviewed on Kube 93 FM, Washington’s largest hip-hop radio station and his hit single from his debut album – “All Around The World,” was featured on the station numerous times. In October 2011, his new single, “Memories,” from The Revelation EP was also featured on the radio station.
J.Bre began making hip-hop music as a creative outlet after his college athletic career came to an end in the winter of 2007. He had always been an avid hip-hop head since his early teen years, so the music he began creating was inspired by the likes of Nas, Rakim, KRS-ONE, 2Pac, and Common, to name a few.
In the few years that J.Bre has been creating music, he has already gained a significant fan base in the Northwest region. J.Bre’s music is known for his signature lyrical style with intricate rhyme schemes and creative wordplay. He doesn’t limit himself to one style of production and enjoys using different styles of music to accompany his lyrics.
J.Bre loves performing on stage and has performed at several prestigious venues in the greater Seattle region including Neumos, The Rendezvous, Studio 7, Tost, El Corazon, Chop Suey, and the King Cat Theater. He has also performed at colleges including the University of Washington, Washington State University, and the University of Puget Sound. In April 2012, J.Bre went on a three day tour with Billboard topping artist Waka Flocka Flame as an opening act. “On stage is the only place where you truly get to interact with fans face to face, share your music with them, and get a reaction from the listeners… its hard to experience that in any other setting,” J.Bre explains.
On August 20th 2011, J.Bre released his follow up project to “Street Signs,” dubbed “The Revelation EP,” featuring Grynch, Luck-One, Havi Blaze and Ste-Hood of “The Realest,” Justis, and Carl Roe. The music video for his single, “Memories” was released in October 2011. J.Bre’s aim in his music career is to breathe life and originality back into a music industry that has degenerated in substance and content in recent years. “I can only make music that it true to myself, so if people can relate to my music, appreciate the message, and share it around the world, I’m happy at the end of the day.”
